Project Gateway: Graduate, apprenticeship, trainee and work experience opportunities

Project GATEway is our intiative that aims to help more young people into the world of work through our Graduate programme, Apprenticeships, Traineeships and work Experience opportunities across all our businesses. If you’re interested in an exciting and varied career in construction, facilities management, property development or consultancy we may just have the perfect opportunity for you.

But don’t be fooled, it’s not just hard hats and high vis vests – careers in our industry range from trade roles, such as plumbers and joiners, through to administative and professional roles, such as architects, quantity surveyors and consultants.

The GATEway programme includes a mix of real-world experiences and motivational activities that will provide skills to support people’s career journeys, as well as giving them transferable life skills too.

The project came off the back of our Queen’s Award win in 2021 when we announced plans to triple our investment in graduates, apprentices and trainees over the next five years in support of local economic recovery and support those who may struggle to enter the world of work.

Working in partnership with Cat Zero,  individuals who were struggling to find employment were given the opportunity to undertake a month of paid work across the Group.

Matched with different areas of the business from facilities management to construction, accountancy, HR and administrative support, participants were given training to help them prepare for stepping into the roles which would give them valuable experience in a bid to help them into the job market.
