West Yorkshire based construction company I&G have started the year on a strong footing after securing a new contract to build an extension on the KP Snacks factory in Pontefract.

KP Snacks

The leading European snack provider, Intersnack Group, is expanding operations at its Butterkist popcorn factory to allow for more production to take place and have chosen to partner with I&G for its reputation in turning around high-quality build projects in tight timescales.

Christopher Carline, I&G Managing Director, said:

“The I&G business has grown over the last five years and started to work with new customers who have recognised our ability to turn around complex projects in tight timescales and to a high quality. The addition of KP Snacks to our commercial client portfolio is a significant step for us and we’re delighted to be working alongside such a renowned international brand on our doorstep
in Yorkshire.”

The work includes a purpose-built end of line extension to house a state-of-the-art palletising plant that will improve the efficiency of the production process, securing the long-term future of the plant.

Mike Kirk, Central Engineering Project Manager from KP Snacks said:

“I have a long standing relationship with key people at I&G and was really impressed with the track record of the wider Sewell Group, so we hope this is the start of a great partnership. We’ve seen the work I&G have produced for other clients and feel like culturally our two businesses are aligned, so we can’t wait to get started.”

Work is due to start in Spring and will take around five months to complete.
