Works continue to improve Leeds General Infirmary

I&G completed a programme of refurbishment works altering the accommodation of the Jubilee Wing of Leeds General Infirmary, which involved changes to the equipment pool and specific clinical engineering functions.

In 2022, I&G will be continuing its support for Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, with a number of schemes coinciding.

Ophthalmology enabling works

I&G was approached by Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust to work with the project team in the design, pre-construction, and construction phase in the refurbishment of the large 2nd floor ward at Leeds general Infirmary.

In recent years, I&G have completed more than 50 schemes for the Trust, and the project team lead by Dave Wood and Garry Higgins have already set up the site, commenced the enabling works and are ready to progress the demolition and strip out works from early February 2022.

The scheme will take approximately 8 months to complete and is a continuation of the Trust’s improvement programme for the Hospital. Demolition works have already begun and we look forward to seeing the project progress over the next few months.

Car Park improvements
Won by competitive tender, I&G is returning to the University of Leeds to construct a new car park and external improvement works.

The scheme comprises of a full strip of the site with new parking provision for the busy campus offering new attenuation, new landscaping, mains drainage connections and new vehicle charge points to service the University and surrounding areas.

The works are the continuation of the previously completed electrical substation and external boundary improvement works.

2nd Phase Cath Labs
I&G commenced the second phase of the research labs in December 2021 with Dave Wood, Sherwin Naron, and Paul Midgley leading the way on site.

The remodelled research labs help provide enhanced service to patients and marks the half-way point for the whole facility upgrade that will see I&G work in this highly sensitive area, working around other wards and specialist clinical areas.

The scheme will complete in mid-April 2022 and will be handed over to Philips who will install the specialist equipment for the hospital.
