Sewell on the go begins renovation of Maybury Road Store
Sewell on the go has begun a major refurbishment to improve its Maybury fuel and convenience store, located in East Hull. The store is being extended and comprehensively remodelled to create more space for a wider variety of produce.
Work on the site is being headed up by the retailer’s sister company, Sewell Construction. The project is expected to take approximately 12 weeks to complete, with the store being temporarily closed for six, throughout May.
Patrick Sewell, Managing Director of Sewell on the go, said:
“It’s been 20 years since we built Maybury and a lot of things have changed in the industry. We have taken the opportunity to expand the facilities and offers to our local customers. We expect our customers to see a modern, clean and convenient new store in early June.”
This is part of a £2m investment for the Sewell on the go estate, which will improve facilities such as South Cave and Sutton for local people whilst creating new jobs.
“We’re also encouraging feedback and suggestions from local customers on what products they like to see on the shelves. Customers can feed back directly via the ‘sewellonthegomaybury’ Facebook page, or alternatively they can speak to a member of staff in store.”
Mark Boothby, Project Manager from Sewell Construction said:
“We’re currently developing the new extension to the rear of the existing shop. Once this is complete, around the 27th of April, the store will close for six weeks to allow us to knock through into the existing space and carry out the final renovations.”
Sewell on the go Maybury is one of 12 fuel and convenience stores that is operated by the local independent retailer. All stores offer customers free WIFI, free ATMs, COSTA coffee, BP fuel and everyday essentials.
