Making a difference

Our people have been walking, running and golfing for charity this summer. From 100 metre sprints to 24 mile slogs, our teams have been getting active for some great causes.

In June, nearly 50 of our team took to the streets for Hull 10K, raising over £4,000 for charity. Over in West Yorkshire, the I&G team were pounding the streets too, on the Kirkwood Midnight Memory Walk to raise money for a local hospice.

Then a month later, a group led by the Community Ventures team tackled the Yorkshire Three Peaks, battling rain, wind, hail and even lightning to tackle the 24 mile endurance challenge.

The Sewell Facilities Management team based at Abbey Lea Care Home in York sprinted 100 metres in the North Yorkshire and York Care Provider Olympics, to promote the health benefits of being active for older residents.

And then we teed up for the Sewell Group Golf Day on 21 July, with thousands raised for Yorkshire Cancer Research.

We’re not stopping there. Pete Ives from Sewell Construction is walking Hadrian’s Wall in September for Dove House Hospice. Want to help him reach his total?
