Education partnership shortlisted at international awards

An education partnership in York has been named as a finalist in a prestigious international awards.

York Schools is a successful long-term public private partnership which runs the design, build, maintenance and operation of four primary schools in the city of York. Partners are City of York Council, private partner Sewell Education York, Sewell Facilities Management and the four schools. Through the partnership, Hob Moor School in York has recently been remodelled to allow it to provide places for 32 extra students with special educational needs and disabilities.

The partnership been named as a finalist in the Partnerships Awards, which spotlights the most innovative projects, outstanding teams, and visionary leaders across PPP infrastructure, healthcare, education, and finance.

York Schools is shortlisted in the Best Operational category, which rewards long-term partnerships which demonstrate strong partner relationships, effective working over time, value for money, performance beyond expectations and social impact in the community.

The winner will be chosen at the awards ceremony at the end of April.
