Celebrating the best in education.

Sewell Facilities Management is proud to give its backing to the Hull Daily Mail’s Golden Apples awards for the third consecutive year.

Shining a light on the region’s efforts to make a difference to education, the awards celebrate everything that’s good about the sector locally.

This year, there are 11 awards up for grabs, from Teacher of the Year and Young Entrepreneur of the Year, to Outstanding Sporting Achievement and the special Lifetime Contribution Award.

Martin Stead, managing director of Sewell Facilities Management, said: “We are incredibly proud to be the lead sponsor of the Golden Apples Education Awards once again.

“Education is fundamental in shaping children’s and young people’s futures, and professionals across the sector go the extra mile every day to bring out the best in their pupils and students.

“These awards are a fantastic way to shine a light on their efforts and achievements, as well as in other areas of education.”

Judging will take place on November 7th and the awards evening will take place at the Royal hotel in Ferensway, Hull city centre, on December 1st.

Hull Daily Mail Editor Neil Hodgkinson said: “”It’s been a successful year in the world of education with more and more schools hitting the top Ofsted ratings and climbing up the league table ranks.

“But behind those headlines is an army of dedicated staff committed to growing our children into rounded adults capable of achieving great things.

“And without those teachers, lecturers and support staff – and the young people giving their all – we would not have the ambitious local education industry we have today.

“That’s what the Golden Apples are about, not about Ofsted ratings or Key Stages, but the people who work tirelessly day in, day out, to inspire, support, cajole and cultivate the talent that offers so much for the future of our region.

“I hope people will get involved and help us showcase that great talent by nominating staff and students.”
