Sewell Group has announced it is to officially launch a new health and safety services division.

The Sunday Times Top 10 Companies to Work For organisation will host ‘Taking Care of Business’ on 10th December at its Sewell Studio, Hull, to celebrate the new business services that compliment the end to end estates services already delivered across the region.

Paul Sewell, Managing Director of Sewell Group explained why this additional service offer is the right thing for Sewell and its customers. He said:

“Our 137 year legacy has been built on the back of listening to our customers, finding out the things that give them a business headache and then taking that pain away for them. In whichever industry you work in, business is becoming tougher. Budgets are tighter, targets are higher and customers are inevitably demanding a more holistic offer to make delivering their day to day core business easier.”

“10 years ago we extended our offer from a quality developer, to a facilities and estate management provider, we now take care of our customers’ places of work 24/7. The team on the ground has worked hard over the past decade to embed this as a proven area of delivery, recently picking up the Facilities Management Excellence Award at the Building Better Healthcare Awards.”

“Now, adding safety services to this portfolio, we can keep buildings and the people in them safe, legal and compliant; a useful and logical next step for our customers.”

Although this is a new string to Sewell Group’s bow, the team of industry experts, led by Chartered Health and Safety Practitioner and one of the founding members of Arc Associates (UK) Ltd Richard Greaves, are far from new to the industry.

The core team of safety professionals have been supporting local SMEs and larger organisations across the country with health, safety and environmental compliance and training services for over ten years.

Richard Greaves said:

“I’m delighted to be joining such a highly regarded company that delivers services with pride and passion. This culture fits well with our team; we too make it our job to get to know our customers’ businesses to deliver relevant, bespoke solutions.”

“The team is looking forward to meeting people from a whole host of organisations and backgrounds on the 10th December at our Taking Care of Business Event. We’ve already had some early successes so delegates will be able to hear first hand how our services work in practice and the value they can add.”

The event will be supported by industry partners from the public and private sectors, including Veolia Environmental Services, who have already called upon Richard and the team’s expertise for the delivery of an internet based operations management system.

Gavin Smedley, Business Manager, Veolia Environmental Services said:

“We’re pleased to be supporting Sewell at the launch of their new safety services. The team has already delivered an excellent operations management system for Veolia that has enabled us to manage safety proactively. I’m looking forward to sharing our experiences on the 10th.”

Other supporting organisations include Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, KCOM Group and Bridge Mcfarland.
