Sewell Construction became the first company in the region to be accredited BS5750 Part 2 (ISO9001 – Quality Management)


Sewell secured ‘Investor in People’ status, a first in the region and later becoming recognised as an ‘outstanding investor in people’


Sewell was awarded UK PFI of the year following the delivery of Victoria Dock Primary School.


The Forecourt Trader Awards celebrate the leading businesses in the industry. Sewell beat off stiff competition to be named Forecourt Trader of the Year – one of eight awards the division took home from the ceremony.

2009 - 2011

In 2009, Sewell entered the Sunday Times list and, on first attempt, became the first company from Hull to feature in the Top 100 Best Companies To Work For. In 2010, the Group rocketed from 45th to 8th before climbing again in 2011 to an outstanding 7th.


Facilities Management was awarded a Building Better Healthcare award, in partnership with Citycare, for Best Facilities Management Partner.


Sewell on the go was voted as a top 10 retailer at the NACS International Convenience Conference.


Sewell was highlighted as delivering ‘Construction Project Excellence’ in an internationally recognised academic journal published by Hull University Business School.


Sewell is continually recognised by the Yorkshire Post and Business Insider as one of the fastest growing 50 companies across the Yorkshire region.


Sewell Construction and Sewell Facilities Management are pleased to have ISO accreditations for quality 9001, environment 14001 and health and safety 18001.


Sewell on the go was ranked as the 24th largest Independent Forecourt Retailer in the UK.


The Leeds City College Printhall refurbishment bagged 2 awards in three weeks!


Since 2006, Sewell has been awarded five bronze, two silver and three gold Considerate Constructors awards!


Sewell on the go win Forecourt Trader of the Year 2016, winning six awards overall.


Sewell Construction were awarded the Bronze Contractor Safety Excellence award at Draxs’ annual Safety Conference.


Sewell Construction is awarded BIM Level 2 Accreditation status
